    crawl.baidu.com

    crawl.baidu.com

anyone know this spider, and its intent? it looks like it is from china, which
I do not see it being too useful, it has beening coming around like once
or twice a day, and It just hit 20 on my site, so I am not too sure
if it is good or bad spider, or if it is of any use.

    Thanks

I think your expectations are a bit high. Officially, last night is the first time your site has been running correctly witht he sitmap configured, etc. SEO doesn't happen over night. It may take a month or even more for a site to really see changes in the rankings.

my expectations are not high at all, rather quite low, because I have low expectations

But I do wonder if my site is setup correctly... I have IPB setup less then this new site, and
spiders just will not go away so I was wondering why I was not seeing more of them, and
it makes me wonder if something could not be setup right, and repell spiders, rather then
inviting them to come in...I know it takes time, but I would rather not have a site setup
for 6 months then come find out I had this or that wrong.

Getting a new site indexed is all about the domain name/age (was it used in the past or brand new?) and back links (other sites that are indexed getting crawled, and passing the spiders on to your site) and finally, content. Content is king. It can't/won't index stuff that doesn't exist.
