We MUST we have the SEO copyright at the bottom of our page? All google has to do is find that and say "oh, this person is trying to bypass the system to make his forums more optimized..lets penalize this guy". I mean really... We already paid for the friggin thing. |

Optimizing your site for SEO isn't "bypassing the system". vBSEO is a completely whitehat solution for vBulletin SEO optimization.

What he said. You should view this as making it easier for the crawlers to understand what's actual content on your page, and what isn't. It helps them ensure the pages they're adding to their index are relevant through all its nifty little features If anything, I would think they'd welcome optimizing pages for their crawlers, it makes their job much easier. |

If this was the case then vbulletin would of been created with static .html pages. Its bypassing what is routine..thats all im saying. I just didnt think we had to have this copyright on after we pay for it. Any way to take it off? Im guessing another fee? |

I had the chance to sit with Vanessa Fox & Amanda Teal of Google not long after I had installed vbseo. Just me & 2 very nice members of the the Google Webmaster Central (formerly Google Sitemaps) team for about an hour. We talked extensively about vbseo & vBulletin related stuff. Both of them had the same reaction to my description of what vbseo does. They both thought it sounded like a great thing for someone to do with their vBulletin forum. I also had a similar (but much shorter) chat with Matt Cutts who had the same opinion. I don't think that the concern of getting whacked for using vbseo is something you need to be too concerned about. Good luck, Ross |

Hi Mike, As Keith said, vBSEO is a whitehat solution and will not result in any penalties. Our software actually is very helpful to search engine crawlers who can crawl vBSEO-enabled forums much more efficiently than non-vBSEO forums. A branding removal option is under consideration for the future.

Since vBulletin relies heavily on PHP and SQL, it makes sense to use dynamic .php pages IMO As far as I'm aware, they don't have a "copyright free" license version.. and although they've said it is coming, they've been saying that for awhile.. so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. |

It is certainly easier to develop a dynamic application using scripts & passing data via the URL (without worrying about the format of the URL). However, with search engine optimization being so important for growth and success of a forum, it is a good idea to have some functionality built in to any dynamic application. Fortunately for vBulletin users, vBSEO takes care of that.
