Completely uninstall all traces of vbseo

Hi, Some how my site got infected by a virus. I have traced the virus to vbseo's footer tag. I need to figure out how to completely remove all traces of vbseo and completely reinstall it. If I try to just remove the code for the footer tag it doesn't load the page correctly.

    Regards,
    Jason

I am not effected by this hack. an Iframe is being injected into my vbseo branding. I was running vbseo 3.3.2 but just upgraded to 3.5.1 but still no luck

Sounds like you left your config file writable. Upgrading should have cleared that issue.

Go through your plugin manager and one by one look for base64 code bit in global start hooks. That was the most common offense as outlined in last years attack round:

I think I might have figured it out, should the config file be chmod to 644?

Or 444 if apache/php run on the same username as your file system, which isn't recommended but some shared hosting providers use.
