    compare nuseo to vbseo

Vbseo has been around for much longer then the newly released nuseo but taking that into account, nuseo has come out really strong it appears.
Features list: NuSEO.PHP Features - NuHIT
admin demo: NuSEO.PHP Admin CP - Login

I dont want this thread to be a debate or flame war, I just want to know what you think are the good and bad parts of each.

I then wouldn't mind a vbseo staff member to let us know what is happening in the near future about some of the things that vbseo still does not have, and if they will be included.

I am using vbseo, and love it! but some features that nuseo has got, has got me thinking, will vbseo ever have these

    1. It has built-in modules which makes it work with not only vbulletin, but also photopost pro (Something which I would really like), Downloads II (something which I would really love) etc. (it appears to work a lot better then just the CRRs that vbseo offers)
    2. It has branding free version
    3. It has source free version
It is early days for NUSEO so I can only imagine that it will continue to improve, but so far, looks like a strong contender...

    Let me know your thoughts.

I use both vbseo and nuseo on different sites. There are some powerfull features in both.

A particular favourite of mine of nuseo is the ability to rewrite forums up a directory. So for example instead of www.mysite.com/forum/articles/ they can be rewritten to www.mysite.com/articles (specified by forum id). You can do this with vbseo but its quite a hassel.

Also the "High Traffic Optimiser" feature looks really good for popular sites.

Is there anything in particular you would like to know about nuseo?

My thoughts in general are, more competition is good for the consumer.

VBSEO needs better performance and a branding free option. However it is a much more solid and better tested product than NuSEO.

Thanks for the reply! I also like the "High Traffic Optimiser" feature that it comes with. That would really come in handy for my site by the sounds of it.

I am glad that their is finally some competition as well, it may get things rolling a bit faster now (vbseo mentioned they were going to start doing seo on other scripts ages ago) so hopefully they will do this as modules and include it as updates for free.

Are there features that vbseo has that nuseo doesnt have that you feel makes vbseo strong? Or has nuseo already taken the lead o_O

Yeah early days for nuseo, vbseo defently has the advantage of being on the market for longer and being very stable. I suppose only time will tell how solid nuseo is. I will keep my eye on its progress for sure tho.

Hmm, its hard to say really, as both are quite different products. The thing I like about nuseo most is probably its modular architecture. So adding new modules to handle new mods and add-ons is a snap. The thing I like about vbseo is its stability and so far nuseo doesn't have a sitemap (but I think they're working on it).

I would say only time will tell

To be honest, I'm not sure, maybe thats a question you could pass on to nuhit.

Also options for the high traffic optimiser are:
    • Alternative PHP Cache (APC)
    • eAccelerator
    • Memcached
    • NuSEO RAM cache

Might as well close it now, who ever deleted this thread in the first place has made it quite clear which product is better. How things have changed here on vbseo.....

    Thanks.

Well gee. You come to VBSEO's forum and ask for everyone to compare a competitors product to theirs. Threads on vbulletin.com get closed all the time asking for a comparison of vBulletin to ipb.

If you want to use a lesser quality product go right ahead. It's not a better product. It's barely been public two months. I've been to sites that use it and it sucks. Right when I opened it and hovered over a url I got session ids. That's like the basics. VBSEO is moving on to its 3rd year and the next major version is not far ahead. However you can play hurt feelings if you want and lose out in the end. / Opinion

I really hope you didn't come on here with this thread and expect for VBSEO to lay out exactly what NuSEO does better.

...or things it does not do at all:
If I'm going to continue pointing nuseo's flaws, I might as well manage both, nuseo and vbseo's projects.

Funny, he fixed the first redirection flaw already - Elfmage, you are still missing the "?posted=1" version of the thread above LOL.

    1. I own vbseo
    2. I posted in the first place in the hope to improve vbseo more as nuseo has some really great features that I feel would benefit vbseo!
    3. true vbseo is much more tested, and nuseo is not, that is great.
    4. vbulletin closes threads that related to ipb after they are normally discussed, they dont delete every thread that releates to ipb in the hope not to let any potential customers know about it.
    5. Vbseo used to be confident and it would not delete other threads eg. zoints seo, instead it got discussed and then closed. Things have changed.
    6. vbseo does not have not set a clear communicated road map of the future. About a year ago they talked about supporting other products such as cms portals etc. Have not heard anything about it since, which is a shame. A clear communicated road map would have solved this.

I am still using vbseo on one of my forums, and using nuseo on my other forums. I am comparing the two currently, and nuseo is not far behind, with more testing, it will over take because vbseo is not IMO taking charge!
