    CHMOD for Windows

    As apart of the instruction in the install guide, in the end it states:

    For security purposes CHMOD 644 your 'config_vbseo.php' file after configuring vBSEO.
    Well, CHMOD is a Linux only command. How should I set th file attributes on a windows 2008 server for this file?

    Try this may help I'm not expert with IIS but maybe that can help you

    FTP > select file > right click. Properties > security
    But if you want to do that with command prompt you will need to check this article

    Go to the permissions tab and set it to be publicly writable

    I already installed vBSEO.

    It still should be publicly writable after the install?

    You need to connect with RDP. Once connected browse to the config file. Right click and select properties. Select the security tab at the top. Click add and type in NETWORK. You'll get 2 choices NETWORK and NETWORK SERVICE. If you're on Windows 2003 then select NETWORK. In the properties box you see write and modify options. Select them and click apply. If you're on Windows 2008 then select NETWORK SERVICE and do the above.

    If you are not adjusting settings, do not make it writeable, only when you need to edit something.
