Brian - Thanks for your response.
Last question which is more of a vbulletin question, but since others may have the same question I will post it anywasy. If I change the URL in vbulletin and something doesn't work like the new domain has a different IP or something stupid like that will i still be able to get to admincp to change it back? Or do I have to upload some config file to change it back and if so which one?
Thanks again for your help.

Domain to ip doesn't really matter.
The best thing to do is to leave your admincp screen open in its own tab. View the site in another tab. If something stops working, you can usually fix it as you are already inside in the other tab.
Otherwise, you will need to go into the database directly and fix the datastore row tables to reflect the correct info.

I have a godaddy hosting account. When I park the domain it give me no option to point to the new domain. I am not sure how to park my old domain on top of my new one.
Would I create a cname record then forward my old domain to the new one? Is this how you park a domain on top of another one?
Thanks in advance for your help.

When you park it, it should ask you WHAT or WHERE to park it on. Do NOT chose their 'park page hosting' ad nonsense that they offer... try to park it on another domain. You may need to email their support for more help on this as i'm not familiar with their control panel.

thank you , I will try
Nice way that you have recommended here and also it will be good one for us. Nicely suggested and describes.
I posed the domain name change question via a support ticket, and I was told that I first need to uninstall vBSEO from my old domain and remove all vBSEO files from that domain. WTH?
I have merely changed domain names. Is this really necessary?
What are the correct steps I need to update this for vbseo?
We responded all your questions within ticket. Please don't double post questions to double our work effort.

I wouldn't have to double post if I felt I was getting my questions answered.
You were very general in your replies, and most of the time you just referred me to a thread or some other url.
I even asked you to please review the contents of my htaccess file (which I copy and pasted for you) to ensure my redirects were correct. What did you do? You told me to refer back to some thread. What kind of customer service is that?
I like your company's product, but you guys need to work on your customer service. We are your PAID customers. Don't treat us like you're doing us a favor by helping us out. Customer Service 101.
All your questions have been answered including .htacess files that is designed for your site. If you still don't understand these , i highly advise you to hire a webmaster and get things done. Because we are simply loosing time by simply explaining same thing over and over to you. It has been third day since you are requesting just a simple license transfers. We responded several ticket messages , forum posts and there is not much we can do additionally regarding this.

I wasn't requesting a simple license transfer. I was asking for advice regarding all the steps necessary to change the domain name, redirects, etc...
English isn't your first language. Therefore, you don't always explain things properly. That is a fact. Thanks for trying.
We already supplied those steps to you. Keep in mind we are offering support for our product only. For vBulletin etc.. or other questions you should always consult their support. We can't give you advices about vBulletin settings. What we can only do is make suggestions of the steps you should follow. And all those steps have been clearly explained to you.
This has nothing to do with English being my native language or not.

I think one of the problems is that if you redirect an old site to a new site, the new site has to be 100% there. If changing domains, there are really many steps to take to ensure the site on the new domain will work properly.
There is plenty of information on changing domains on vbulletin, but most leave out some information here or there. They tell you to update the config file with new database info and admin url info, but they don't remind to change all urls in the database or to make sure host changes file ownership (if moving files on same server). There's just a lot more to it.
