Changing domain URL?

Hello,

I have vBseo installed and everything is fine, but I'm thinking of changing the URL to my site and also where the forums are. Will this cause me issues with the already indexed pages in search engines?

Site layout now:
http://www.Gamer4um.com/ = Portal
http://www.Gamer4um.com/4ums/ = Forums

What I want to change it to:
http://www.TheGamerCafe.com = Forums

As you can see I want to change the URL and also dump the portal. I hope someone can answer me soon, as I have a whole new style and layout for the changing of the url..

thye can change the DB on vbseo side if u want to change url's.. I'm doing the same thing shortly

you can contact us regarding switching your license to a new domain.

Yes, when you change the domain name, all your indexed pages in search engines are "lost". However, you can setup a 301-redirection from old domain to a new one.

Could someone show me how to set this up correctly? I want to make sure I don't lose what the search engines already have..

Basically, you will just leave the following .htaccess in the Gamer4um.com/4ums/ :

RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.thegamercafe.com/$1 [L,R=301]
