Changed server now vBSEO went bezirk!

So I changed to another dedicated server and now vBSEO is running all kinds of crazy in mySQL and now getting a ton of vB database errors and heavy server load. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this as I know it's vBSEO causing the issue?

You will need to be more specific about what is going on. What error messages are you receiving? Have you optimized the new servers' php.ini and my.cnf ? are you running in DSO or cgi mode?

Just got off the phone with HostGator support. They said there were a ton of vBSEO quiries running in mySQL and that it was causing high server load. I have disabled vBSEO for now and killed all other processes now site is running ok. I was however running only 2 gigs of mem on my dedicated server so I'm going to up it to 4 gigs to see how it goes and then perhaps use memcached.

    What would you suggest?

Also, I don't know how to optimize anything you just said. Do you guys do that for licensed customers? Also don't know what DSO or cgi is.

I know how difficult it is for guys who manage boards to get server admin work done. Ive been in that position several times.

Check out platinumservermanagement.com or 247servermanagement , these guys charge about 30 $ pm and do all the optimization etc required for you. I havent tried them yet, I have a local server admin take care of things whom I can reach on phone immediately. He charges around 80 $ pm for management for each site. I also have a fully managed server.

What i've realised is it is okay to pay a premium for things you do not have expertise in ... just pay a little extra and get all these day to day operational issues off your chest... focus on your community.

Sorry, but we are not server admins. We are a software company only, and you should consider one of the above to help you out if your host can't do it for you.

HG is aware of vbseo issues on their systems (we have opened a dialog to try to work out why our software doesn't work on their systems very well) but at this time it has not been resolved. I would suggest opening a ticket with your host and tell them that you are running vbseo and that your server may need to be adjusted to run it properly.
