Changed domain names - do I need to rebuild my sitemaps?

I changed the domain name for my vbulletin/vbseo forum and I noticed a Google search nets the old domain name in search results. The URL's still link ok.

    1) Is it worthwhile to delete my sitemaps and regenerate new ones with the new domain name?

    2) If I rename some of the subforums, how does this affect the sitemaps?

I dont want to make the changes and lose my SEO history but I dont mind doing it if it means it will be rebuilt better.

    Thoughts and insight please?

For changing your domain name, please see here: Changing Domains: Directing Old Site to the New Site with htaccess (Note that it will only work if you keep the rewrites the same)

    1) Yes, you should delete them and regenerate.

    2) You can always ask for rules to 301 redirect, but you need to post specific examples.
