Change to root folder, instead of /forum

    Hi,

I have been running my forum for a few years now... I always had the directory of my vbulletin in the /forum folder. Now I have the option to move the whole vbulletin forum to the root folder of my website. My only problem is that 50% of my users come in through google links, to the /forum link I assume.... what will happen if I move my directory of the vbulletin forum, to the root folder ? Will I loose PR or any links in any way ? OR does vbseo solve this in any way ?? I am quite lost on this, how to handle...

I do think, that moving the directory, to the root folder, is a good thing, but if this means I will loose the google traffic or links etc... then it's not good of course... Do you have any suggestion on this if I should move my forum to the root folder yes or no..

You guys are the google experts ( as the vbulletin people could not give me a clear advise ), so I assume you guys know what is best to do and handle on this and what I need to do.. Or maybe there is a other way to work on this.. ? Or maybe just put the CMS of vbulletin in the root.. ? or maybe install vbadvanced ? Or maybe edit the .htaccess file ( if yes, example please.. ) and would this save the google links .. ?

What is your suggestion on this... please advise and thanks.

    Best regards,

p.s. With the old version 3.8.4 of vbulletin, I used to use the vbadvanced also. I hope you guys can make this clear for me, as I have been looking around for an clear answer for a few months now... Thanks

If you move your vBulletin installation from a folder to another , you'll have to redirect all your traffic from old folder to new folder.

We can't tell you to use vBadvanced , vBulletin CMS or do anything. What i would do is leave my forum where it is and use vbadvanced or vBulletin CMS on root.

    Hi,

Hmz.. looks like a smart thing to do.. to leave the forum where it is.. but moving it to the root would be better for the domain PR, or not ?

How can I get the CMS of vbulletin on the root folder ? How to change.. ?

    Thanks.
