Can't download ordered product - why so complex?

I have ordered and paid for a VBSEO package but I am yet unable to download it and install it. I can't figure out why such a simple operation needs to be made so complicated.

Can anyone kindly provide some help for this outstanding order?

When I fill in my profile on this page http://www.vbseo.com/usercp/customer_profile/ and I click Save I am not taking anywhere and the page reloads.

Not so.

The page which you refer to fill out the details has a bug.
Once filled out it provides no feedback mechanism and just reloads. Leading you nowhere.

I have clicked on the left column bottom link "Downloads" and found the items to download, but... installation came to a point where it wants a licence key

so I have had my webmaster open a support ticket on another URL

The license number is automatically retrieved, so long as the Forum URL you provided during your purchase matches your actual forum URL as defined in your vBulletin options.

Honestly though, purchasing this stuff, is a nightmare.

It's not too picky, it just confirms that the software is only installed on the site for which it was purchased. Since you had your Forum URL incorrectly defined in vBulletin's options, it couldn't confirm that.

You are right. It is not too picky, I agree that was offensive and speculative.

But getting new customers to go through the ordeal of multiple emails, forum signup, pages that do not load properly, and not easy to find download links was not what I would describe the ideal customer experience.

I think you could make me a 100% happier customer if you gave me all of what I needed in one email with a straight download link. This feels very 1995 and makes what would have looked professional, "picky", because after a few hours trying to combat with your frustrating sales workflow, one may lose her infinite patience.

It is a limit we humans have.

The confirmation e-mail should contain the download link. Did it not? It's also at the top right of each screen of the site listed as "Downloads".

I can now see VBSEO installed inside VBulletin Control Panel, but it asks now for another password!

Which one should I use here now?

B. License your vBSEO instance:

1. CHMOD 666 the 'vB-root/includes/config_vbseo.php' file.
2. Using your browser, visit: http://www.yoursite.com/vB-root/vbseocp.php.
3. Define a password for your vBSEO Control Panel by entering it twice in the fields provided, you will be redirected to the settings page.
4. Copy/Paste your current key: 32_digit_key_in_red into the license key field provided:
