    canonical urls? Good for forum or not?

    So my questio is canonical good for vbulletin or not.
    because i have thread on 500 pages and 5000 messages, and all are little bt difrerent.
    so its canonical actually good for forums or not? i dont want to loose traffic because of that

    i also have turn of canonical in vbseo but i have find that vbulletin 4.1.3 has canonical in showthread templates

    <link rel="canonical" href="{vb:raw thread_url}" >

    so for now i have removed them? what is your suggestion for this?

    any similiar discussion

    thanks

    pagination is accounted for within the vbseo conical. I suggest turning off vb and using the vbseo version.

    yes i know, pagination is within the vbseo conical, so every page in thread will be rel "canonical" and the started thread will be more important right? i understand that

    but i have hear from allot people, that this in forum is not maybe so god.

    what if you have some keywords in page 77, then google would not find that in search results. i have many results in google that are not on first page, and they give me allot of visitors. forum with almost 3 million posts.

    so if every first ten pages of my thread (because i have only 10 posts per thread) becames important and other pages not, whats gonna happend?

    Cmon people, lets talk about this, maybe its not so everything good with canonical. My seo experts telling me that this is really tricky for forums

    Every Page of a thread has a canonical URL. Page 77 and also Page 2. The Canonical URL is the Mail URL for this Content and prevents Double Content. If content form Page 77 is placed somewhere else, there must be the entry "canonical URL".

    Just look at this Page. The URL is

    and if you into the source you will find

    <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.vbseo.com/f2/canonical-urls-good-forum-not-49794/" />

    Page 77 will have its own conical to page 77.
