    Best URL structure?

I just installed vbseo and am wondering if the default URL settings are the best? if not, which are?

As it sits now it ends in .html, would something like /forums/thread-title/ be better, without the .html?

    Thanks in advance.

Personally I use the second preset - which is also used here at vBSEO.
If you are unsure what is best, I'd stick with one of the presets - all of which are good choices.

The main thing you have to decide is if you prefer directory-like URLs or extensions. Many recommend not using extensions.
URL Structure - no .html extension

All default url structures are good. They are carefully checked by our Staff to avoid any possible problems.

hmm I don't know whether to keep the .html extensions or not.....

Maybe I'll just stick with the default settings for now?

    Any other suggestions on this.

If you read Brian's responses in the thread linked to above, you will see that he recommends no use of extensions.

I think that the .html extension was used just an as example (most popular?).
More emphasis was given on how you separate the different words.

    IF he had written :

    long-haired-dogs.html
    long-haired-dogs/
    long-haired-dogs.php
    my views would've been different.

Good point; I was originally under the impression that he was suggesting .html URLs are the best but you've just convinced me otherwise. Thanks!
