    Attachment thumbnails not shown

    Hey folks,

I am having weird problems with my attachments on my vBulletin board with vBSEO installed.

Whenever someone clicks an image attachment (only images) he is forwarded to a new page telling him that he does not have the required permissions and that he needs to log in. The thumnails aren't shown either.

When I disable vBSEO everything works again.

    Has anyone experienced something similar?

    Regards,
    Hendrik

you may need to add your attachments folder into your htaccess exceptions.

basically, find both where admincp is listed, and add |yourfoldername to the list in the hataccess rules (2 instances)

Still having the same problem, see: vBSEO image problem on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I tried to move the attachments into a different folder, one 2 folders above the web-root. The problem still persists.

With your suggestion I was no longer able to download any of the attachments instead of just the non image ones.

    Everything works except image attachments.

Can you please try to add .att just end of your attachment rewrite rules. If you are not sure how to do it , please create a support ticket with vBSEO cp login and an example of thread which contains an attachment so we can check it.

    Hi Mert,

This worked for me, but I had a question: why did this work? Rather, why was it that my static-looking image URLs were not being passed to vBSEO? Just curious - it'd be great if I could have a clean, simple URL for my users to use, and it's kind of weird that my users are using a .jpg.att extension.

    Thanks!

*bump* Mert, care to weigh in? I'm trying to figure out why this worked, and whether it would be the only fix. Is this a server configuration issue? How can it otherwise be corrected?

Yes some servers requires an extension defined.
