So, here's the thing:
I tried to update my vBSEO to the latest using Safari on Mac OS X 10.4.5.
The download went fine except that Safari thinks the files were executables which they aren't.
I was thinking this is no problem but I was proven wrong. :(
Not knowing what problems this may cause I used Transmit (FTP client) to upload the new files and overwrite the old ones just like I did on my windows computer.
First thing: the .htaccess is invisible on Mac OS X (I have no idea where to change that setting) so it can't be uploaded.
Second thing: The files were all cropped. Don't know wether it was Transmit or OS X but they were damaged on the server (missing ?> at the end or even totally damaged).
So what happened? vBSEO wasn't working at all.. I got a fatal error and I tried to re-upload the file but no success. In the meantime Transmit deleted my whole 'include' folder..![]()
I ended up in front of my old windows computer on which I had to upload the new files again and overwrite my old files which I had uploaded before using Mac OS X.
Now my community is working again but I had a downtime of 30 minutes and the worst thing: I don't even know who to blame for that!![]()
I still have problems with the vBSEO CP but I hope to get this sorted out quickly.
So, are there any Mac users who have had similar problems?
