Thank you Brian. Unfortunatly I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Would you be able to provide a sample .htaccess that I could look at?

So I would place the .htaccess in the old domains root folder and the php file in the new domains forum folder?

    That's great thank you!

So the above redirects to my new domain, then the script in the first post kicks in. Correct?

If so, your a genius and have saved my bacon as I've already begun the merge!

P.S thanks for your paitence. This is my first merge, I'm trying to be extra careful to insure it goes smoothly!

Yes. I would suggest waiting a bit though. Too many movements all at once can send serach engines confused.

    Hello everyone.

I'm working on a migration from SMF to vB 3.8.4. After I installed vBSEO, I set the script vbseo301.php and the rules in the .htaccess file, but when redirected, leading to a blank page. Can you say me what's happening?

    I also had this problem:

It appears the .htaccess settings are being ignored completely with vbSEO active on the site. So maybe it's overriding something?
I followed the advice of Oleg, and handed the matter of the blank page.

P.s: I'm working in Comunidad Underground Hispana - Powered by vBulletin, a licensed forum.

    Regards

Should I open a ticket using the Licensed Account?

Make sure the rules in the htaccess file are at the top of the file, directly above the sitemap rule is generally the place for pre-vbseo processing. If they are at the bottom, they will not work correctly.

If you're getting blank pages, it could also be a memory_limit reach. Make sure your php.ini file is set to at least 32M for memory_limit.

    Hello Brian.

Thanks for your support. At the end of the day, I had to edit a couple of rules, now works fine!

    Thanks again

I recently moved my forum from one domain to another. I am not sure that this will work for me since I deleted my old database. Right now I have a redirect code on my old index.php file at the old domain. Is there anyway to make this work since I deleted the old database? I am a new customer and don't know much about SEO. Thats why I bought vbseo. The old domain was in existance for about 8 years. I used IMPEX to move the forum to the new domain.

This tool only works if you imported your forum from another forum software like Phpbb , IPB etc... If you still keep your imported table please supply us example thread and forum urls you were using before so we can assist you.
