    Oh. I didn't know you needed vbseo for this to work! I've tried the version of this on vbuleltin.org and couldn't get it to do anything (the old SMF url's still just went to my homepage). The version you guys have here at least gives me the above error. which makes me think that it's almost working. Sucks! I'm broke, otherwise I would buy vbseo just for THIS. Cause I'm losing all my old google rankings for my old url's.

    We imported our IPB to vb over a month ago and the installed vbSEO. Is it too late to use this redirect script?

    I would think not. As long as there are old links archived, then it could be of some use to you.

    I am very much looking forward to try this. I have vbseo but was trying to use the version from vb.org.

    My phpbb site will be shut down this weekend for the transfer over, so hopefully this will all work according to plan.

    Quick questions. My php forum is in the root directory. I also plan to install vb in the root also, so is:

    PHP Code:
    $standard_404     'http://www.paintballer.i.e/404.shtml';
    $new_domain     'www.paintballer.e'
    $new_folder        '';    // Without trailing slash
    $ext_type        '.php'
    Are these settings ok for the new folder?

    Code:
      $standard_404     = 'http://www.paintballer.i.e/404.shtml';
    An extra dot (.) in the first line too.

    Are there any special vbSEO settings that need to be used for the 404 error pages in vbseocp? I have uploaded the script, edited the settings, added the .htaccess settings:

    Code:
    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} board=([0-9]+)
    RewriteRule index\.php vbseo301.php?action=forum&oldid=%1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} topic=([0-9]+)
    RewriteRule index\.php vbseo301.php?action=thread&oldid=%1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} .msg([0-9]+)
    RewriteRule index\.php vbseo301.php?action=post&oldid=%1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} action=profile;u=([0-9]+)
    RewriteRule index\.php vbseo301.php?action=useaction=profile;u=r&oldid=%1 [L]
    But whenever an old SMF URL is accessed it just shows the forum homepage.

    It appears the .htaccess settings are being ignored completely with vbSEO active on the site. So maybe it's overriding something?
