    262 Crawl errors * Update Now 861

Hello, I had vbseo installed last week.

I have checked google webmaster tools and my crawl stats has 262 errors. They are all 404 not found errors.

I have checked and it has the URL's wrong It has them as

    http://www.chattaboxforums.com/forums/advice/

    But they should be

    http://www.chattaboxforums.com/advice/

why is it having the word "forums" in all the urls?? when it's not correct

Did you recently move your forums to root?

I looked at your sitemap and the /advice threads look ok. It's good that they are 404'ing, as they do not exist. Expect to see them drop out of the webmaster tools area in a couple weeks.

I'm not sure how they got in there...

Is the date under the "last found on" column the date of vbseo (give or take a few days)? if so, that means SINCE you installed vbseo, it corrected the problem.

Yeah, that sounds about right then. You installed vbseo, it fixed the problem, google took a few days and started to report the page as a 404.

You're set up correctly now. Whatever it was that was broken or mis-linked doesn't appear to be so any more.

I checked your sitemap files and there is nothing defined as forums/threadname . Your vBSEO installation is working correct also.

If i were you i would create a forum folder within your root and place the following .htaccess to your forum folder. This will redirect any request to correct url

    Code:
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.chattaboxforums.com/$1 [L,R=301]

No , with that .htaccess every request made for domain.com/forum/forum-section/thread1.html will be redirected to domain.com/forum-section/thread1.html
