    Placing Ads in Threads

    Hi All,

I started placing AdSense and eBay Relevance Ads in postbit (Threadview).

After the 1st Posting and above the last Posting (if the Thread contains more than 5 replies) on a Page.

That is fine, till the thread have more than 1 Page, if the thread have more than 1 page ....

If last page have 1 posting it looks like

    Ad
    Posting
    Ad

if the last page have 2 postings it looks like

    Posting
    Ad
    Ad
    Posting

Is their a possibility to check that and only allow the Ad above the last posting to be their if the page contains more than 5 postings?

I would like it most, if (on every page, on any setting postings per page) after the first, after the posting in the middle of the page and above the last posting ... but only if their is no

    posting
    ad
    ad
    posting

    or

    ad
    posting
    ad

    situation.

Is it possible to manage that with vB?

    thanks for any input.

There is a mod on vbulletin.org that can manage all your ads for you. Its quite a stable product so I would recomend you would try it out and see how it works for you.

Oh hell that looks damn complex to me ... I'll give it a try on my test system

I remember testing that - the problem was, that I can not display different typs of ads for user or guests.

Can you not add a conditional inside the boxes in the admincp?

Check out my ad placements on my forum/blog project Fast Track Out Of Debt - RubySquad

I placed a leaderboard in forum description and a title ad within each post.

    Please give me some feedback.

i can't tell about performance yet, because I just did it.

I've also been trying to work out how to do that = I can't find the variable that returns how many posts on a page though either - I asked at vb.com but never got a response ...

    I use the following:

    <if condition="(($post[postcount]==1) or ($post[islastshown])) and ($show['guest'])">

Shows on the first post, and the last post on the page.
    Google actually recommended this method.

Honestly, so far, i'm not impresed, but i'm giving it a week trial period. So far, its drastically less money than when i had it under the first post for guests only.

my first post performs OK, but but last post does not.

I'm waiting to hear back from google, as they were doing some monitoring for me.
