    Odd issue with adsense

I've used adsense in the past with few issues and less results. Then I read the highly publicized story and how vBSEO earned then a new BMW, so I reinstalled adsense. I reinstalled the code on Saturday, and my mainpage Rottweiler Discussion Forums is still receiving psa's along with my vBadvanced cmps page Rottweiler Discussion Forums I do get revelent ads on the forum pages such as General Info - Rottweiler Discussion Forums as well as thread pages such as Want To get A Rott . Advice please - Rottweiler Discussion Forums

My problem is, why am I receiving psa's on the main forum page, as well as the vbAdvanced cmps page?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Rather then just disable vBSEO I would like to uninstall it competly too see if I can get google to index my site.

Asense will only appear in threads and posts, can't get anything to appear on the main page. Soime might tell me googlemedia needs time to search my site. That's all fine and well, my adsense code has been on the site since before I posted my question above.

I have a back up version of vB 3.54 minus vBSEO that has been closed since 2006 and it shows google adsense on the mainpage as well as all the forum pages.

So if I uninstalled vBSEO for a week or two, much, if any, damage would I do to my SEO's?

I wouldn't remove vbSEO if you have any intention of putting it back on. If Adsense can't crawl your main page, it's unlikely that vbSEO is to blame. Do you have a robots.txt? Sometimes Google gets flakey on my sites and shows some psas but never for very long.

I don't see any Google AdSense placed on your forum homepage.

You removed it because it was PSAs?

i'm seeing pet-related ads on all the pages i looked at.

however, your site did take about 30 seconds to fully load for me.

if google sees that, i'm sure they won't stick around too long. Consider getting a better provider (or, run some tweaks to better your connection)

Also, don't over do-it with the ads. i've had the best results with 1 ad unit per page.

Let me try this a different way.

Check out this url: Rottweiler Discussion Forums this is a test forum I opened so you all can see that google adsense works perfectly as designed on vB 3.64 MINUS vBSEO.

Here is a url Beta Forums for a install of vBulletin 3.6.7 MINUS vBSEO adsense is working as designed.

Here is a url: www.rottweiler.net/fourms where adsense is not working at all, the only difference is vBSEO is INSTALLED at that url.

Now look at this url: Rottweiler Gallery @ http://www.rottweiler.net/gallery adsense is working as designed, BECAUSE vBSEO is not associated with that page.

Now look at this url Links Directory you will notice adsense works on that page as well which by the way has nothing to do with vBSEO.........and contains no content at all??? Yet shows rottweiler revelent content. Did I forget to mention, that url has no association with vBSEO???

I had the same slow experience on my first visit to his site. Also, comparing the source code of the beta site to the one having the problem shows that there are more differences between the two than just having vbSEO installed.

So rather then point out where I may have made a mistake, lets instead chastize me for an error in code I am obviously not aware I made.

I'm posting of this problem because there is obviously an error, my hope was to gain assistance with this error.

The only difference I am aware within the code I am currently using on my live site, is a suggestion posted on this forum to show a blanks instead of psa's

    Code:
    google_alternate_ad_url = "http://www.rottweiler.net/collapsible_ad.html";

I'm not saying you made an error in your code, I'm saying that the two examples you've shown us are NOT in fact identical with the exception of vbSEO as you stated. If vbSEO was really the culprit, you wouldn't be the only one reporting this issue.

Some things to check... do you use a robots.txt file in one or both of the urls you've showed us? If so, please post the contents. Also, in Adsense do you see any crawl errors listed under the urls that are only showing psa's?

I use no robots text file at all. There are two url's contained in the site diagnostic's report from google that state they are failed attempts due to robots txt but as I said, I do not use a robots txt, and those two url's are showing google ad's.

I have just now created a robots.txt containing the following

    Code:
    User-agent: Mediapartners-Google*
    Disallow:
and placed it in my forum root at the suggestion of google.

I apolgize if I sound a bit irrerated, I do appericate the assistance.

    Thank you.

Hmm I was really hoping that the adsense diags would show something relevant to your problem. When I have time I'll take a closer look at your two urls and see if I can find anything wrong.
