I currently have a smaller banner under the header, after every first post in a thread, side banner and a box banner on the right side of the forums.

    Decent spots? Suggestions?

I've never had any luck with sidebar ads. The best performing untis have been 300x250 and 336x280s under the nav bar

I'll look for it now. I do know though when I did have a regular sized banner under my nav bar with drop down menus, the menus would appear behind the adsense banner. The would not appear over the banner.

This is due to z-index and flash/iframe native z-index of always wanted to be infinity (on top no matter what). It's completely un-related to TOS, just basic HTML and browser issues.

    what about tweetboard??

in my site if someone opens it and scrolls up it will cover the ads, unless he change the size it won't.

any idea if this against the TOS?

Technically, it is against the TOS to cover the ad unit in any way, even by a user-click event. To clarify my post above, it isn't the TOS that is causing the drop down/etc to fall behind, it is z-index related. But it is still technically against the TOS.

That said, i don't think it will be an issue. Google doesn't follow javascript and odds are, a rep isn't going to come to your site to check.

I'm just curious what kind of rectangles perform best: Text and Image / Images or Text only or combination of both?
