    1.5-2.5% is GOOD.
    .5-1.5% is 'average'
    anything above that is GREAT

In the past I had between 0.03 % and 0.14 % CTR in my forums. So I think this can be improved.
I changed ad positions and had a look over my whole ad concept and since then I get between 0.26 % and 0.38 %. I guess there are still possibilities to improve.

In my content area there are CTR of 1.5 % to 2 %. I guess, improvement will be harder there...

The right content and the right ad in the right place is tough to find. But when you find it, it can be rewarding.

I get 3.3% CTR from my guest on ads shown under my navbar in the forums

Here is my site so you can take a look at the ad placement. Chitown R/C- Chicago's Largest Online RC Car and Truck Community!

3.3% on a fluid skin? That is crazy.

Do you get that CTR only from those 2 ad units?

    The factors are:

Ad placement, ad colors, ad relevance.

I personally experienced highest CTR on fixed skins.

The site was fixed width for a long time, and I just changed it to fluid not too long ago to see how it would affect revenues. Based on numbers for the last 3 months and just the last month, seems to be working out in favor of leaving the site fluid. I simply need to get more regular content on the homepage and do more research on SEO to get higher placement on search engines to start attracting higher numbers of guests. Hopefully as the summer is kicking off, the numbers start to improve. To to my niche, summer months are always the busiest.

I just went into my adsense account and ran some reports. I am getting 3.3% from the guests only with just those two adsense ads under the navbar. I ran another report to check for CTR for the past 3 months and it showed 2.89%, guests only.

My members rarely clock on any ads, so I'm thinking of disabling ads for them altogether.

I'd post up my eCPM, but I'm not sure if that is allowed by google's rules.

Very interesting. That's a crazy CTR. I will try it out . Thanks.

Nope, don't post it here as it's against google's rules. Nonetheless, we have a PM option :P.
