This will obviously vary from 0 to 99999 a day depending on the site, niche, traffic, etc etc.

I would suggest using 1, max 2, banners on your site. every ad pays less starting at position 1.

wow, people really make that much? i thought it was just rumours so people could sell ebooks on ebay

I don't understand what you mean about the banners, sounds like your saying that if i had 1 banner on my page and a person clicked on it, i'd make more than if i had 3 banners on the page and the same person clicked on the same banner?

    do i understand that right?
how does it work with impressions, i get 3 impressions for 3 banners and 1 impression for 1 banner right?

i have a banner in my header and footer on the index page and in my arcade, and have an extra banner after the first post of each thread

Adsense works in a bidding process. the higher the advertiser bids, the higher up their ad displays.

an average ad unit has 4 links on it.

    $1
    .75
    .50
    .25

    per click as an example.

when you get to ad unit 2,

    .20
    .15
    .10
    .09

by the time you get to ad unit 3, it's not worth your time to display the ad for the pennies it will make. You're better off hoping to keep them on the site for a 2nd page view and the click of an ad the next time around on the higher paying ad units.

    The goal is to either
    - keep the user as a user
    - exit out the #1 ad link in the #1 ad (according to source order)

impressions can be viewed per page or per ad in adsense. go to advanced reports and you will see the split option.

From my experience and with my niche, a third 300 x 250 ad unit placed after the last post has pulled in more per click than one below the navbar. Up to $5 a click at times. I believe content or even previous browsing history may affect earnings per click, not necessarily the highest bidder that takes position 1 below the navbar.

With the VB default adsense locations, I make about £3 - £5 per day. Not much, but enough to compensate the hosting costs.

I won't give details, to stay "legal" with Google, but I will say that since I bought and installed vBseo, my revenue has doubled on a per day basis. And this month is averaging nearly quadruple the pre-vBseo time.

I've had vBseo since Feb 5th, btw.

Over the years, I've had varying results with Google Adsense. For a while they micro-manage things and then an advertiser comes along with a serious hunger for exposure and they let'em rip until the respective advertiser restores their sanity. I try to mix Adsense with what I call "Direct Relationships" in order to better forecast monthly revenue.

It is very much possible to make serious revenue through Adsense, but don't buy into the gimicks. Roll up your sleeves determine what works best for your site.

Hi Azonaco or anybody. Where exactly do you add the adsense code to display after the last post? Thanks for any help.

I'm averaging 5.50/day with a 728x90 under the navbar, and two 336x280 units under the welcome header. It's not much but I don't show ads to members at all, and I rotate some direct paid banners into these three spots as well.

If you use the ads for guests only. This also helps to increase revenue. VBSEO made about %30 difference to me.

Enough to pay for my dedicated server and upgrades, take my wife out for dinner each week and buy my ration of beer.
