    put it in the content, something like:

    just wrap it in some CSS with a float: right; command and some padding and the article text will wrap around it.

    article_txt is probably a div already on your page. just place the ad div in the right spot.

    Code:
    <div id="article_txt">
    <div style="float: right; padding: 5px;">ad code</div>
    article text here will wrap.
    </div>

    (article_txt) It's not in the view source of the page or any of the templates (including the css stylesheet).

    of course its not... i used that as an example only. the text of the article is liekly already in a div, and to make the ad display, i used that. basically, shove that float div at the top before the article text but in the text div.

    I still can't figure it out (getting the 300 x 250 in there). I don't see a setting to place the code in there...

    I figured out a way to do it manually, but how do I make it so that the first post automatically has the 300 x 250 block?

    You have to place it there. As this is WP-related, you should consult a WP help site.
