    Google Adsense - Off Topic

    Hope someone can help.

My google adsense is completely off topic and has been for quite sometime, it used to be on-topic before VBSEO install. This may be coincidence but I would appreciate it if anyone can help out.

    Thanks,

Thanks - I wasn't aware of it - it's been on for almost 24 hours now though and no improvement - ads are still completely off topic.

    Hope you can help.

No I am not - Do you have any other ideas as I am getting quite annoyed with this now. And as you know its pointless even considering trying to contact google.

As a first step, i would suggest cleaning up the C2C ratio

    1) move your css to the filesystem (a vb option) instead of inline
    2) turn on vbseo code clean up function

It looks like your adds are picking up on the markup of your site instead of the content of your site.

What's REALLY interesting is that the w3 validation service keeps giving me a 500 error on your site. it laods frine in my browser, but the service is seeing server errors.
Validation Results - W3C Markup Validator

This may be a problem for google bot/adsense bot as well, if they see a 500 instead of the actual content.
    Maybe ask your host?

    Brian,

Thanks for taking the time to look into this in some detail.

I am completely non-technical - any chance you can put your suggestions into "dummy" speak for me - It is quite important I sort this out and I cant believe that I have done anything different to anyone else so am also quite annoyed.

Also, what specific question should I ask my host ? I will then be able to post their reply.

    Appreciate your urgent response.

I would simply ask them if they are blocking bots of some sort, and give them the link above. That page should NOT 500 if your site is working, which it is, which leads me to beleive that your host has somehow blocked or disallowed non-human requests

Thanks will do - but can you provide the other details for me - I dont understand why vbseo believe this is of little importance to me or to them - for me - if I was vbseo I would be quite worried and more than keen to identify this issue so that it can be corrected.

So please, I would appreciate some focus here to resolve this issue as I have already had to put a great deal of effort in to get vbseo working and so far for negative results compared to where i was before install.

    Jon,
I'm not sure why you are getting the vibe that we don't care... We do care and hope that all of our customers do well with their sites.

As stated, I'm pretty sure this is a system/server/network error on your end that needs to be resolved with your IPS/hosting provider.

Please - you have mis-understood my concerns and taken my response the wrong way.

    For example:

"As a first step, i would suggest cleaning up the C2C ratio

    1) move your css to the filesystem (a vb option) instead of inline
    2) turn on vbseo code clean up function"

I then asked - "I am completely non-technical - any chance you can put your suggestions into "dummy" speak for me - It is quite important I sort this out and I cant believe that I have done anything different to anyone else so am also quite annoyed."

The response from vbseo - "<nothing>". This is where the vibe comes from and I am sure you understand.

So now I am in the position where I must contact the people that provide my support - thats fine and I will do so and I will report back their response.

Here is the response from my host:

"I have tried accessing Validation Results - W3C Markup Validator and got the 500 error. The error log is showing below error.

    ##
[Sun Aug 30 11:23:50 2009] [error] [client 128.30.52.71] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /var/www/html/global.php(608) : eval()'d code on line 4
    ##

This is not because the server is blocking anything, but a code error. Please correct the code /var/www/html/global.php and verify again."

Please can you help me resolve.

That error is coming from an installed mod (could be vBSEO, but most probably not), on the "parse_templates" hook.

Do you have any modifications other than vBSEO installed? If so, which ones?

As far as I am aware there is nothing but vbulletin and vbseo installed on my website.
