Google AdSense click revenue question

hello,

I've just tried implementing a new type of placement (a square in the post view it self), my CTR increased but the amount i get from clicks have decreased.

my question is, is it normal for the amount of money to get from clicks to decrease once you get more clicks? or is it that the square ad format has lower value ads (i heard the opposite)

More clicks usually turns into better eCPM as well.

could it be that visitors are clicking image/flash ads rather than text?

Its hard to make any solid conclusions with limited data. Give it a few days/weeks. Make sure it's set as a target ad unit, and so forth.

It's impossible to get any stats of any merit off of 3 clicks in a month.

You need to get more clicks (at least 50 in a reasonable time frame, like a day or 2) before you can draw any conclusions. Click $ vary all over the place, and you can't really average anything out on a single click basis.
