Are you targetting to a different category than what your site would get normally, or targetting to ensure the ads are relevant to your site?

I am targeting to relevant ads. Automotive for my Mustang site etc.

I may see how she does without the targetting. I have always just started off targetting the ads.

I've tried their contextual, and it doesn't context.
I've tried their targeted, and it doesn't target.

YPN would be a great program if they could figure out how to actually serve ads of revelence.

When did you try it? Seems to be working very well for me now. I have noticed steady improvement in their product over the last several months.

I usually put the ads in for a short time to see how they are doing, then take them away. I put them in the archive of one of my sites a while back and notice a big improvement.

One thing I have noticed, is the first time a thread or page is opened after adding YPN, there is no telling what you are going to get with their ads. Once they send their bots in, the ads become much more relevant. That has been my experience anyway.

i served about $100 worth of ads with them last month (couple days) and took it off yet again in favor of adsense, due to it taking 3 days to generate 1 day of adsense income.

yahoo also still has my site in /forums and on IPB, which it hasn't been since June 16th.

so, my faith in yahoo is limited at best.

Funny that you mention that, and this really isnt to spark a debate of YPN vs. Adsense but I got that very same problem with google.

It is definately a site to site thing in terms of which works better.

You know Mike, I experience the same thing.

Yahoo has always been ace for our site. Sending in more than 60% of our unique visitor traffic and always updates our site much faster than google. (Have even had top 5 rankings for major keywords like "chat").

We were using adsense and made a switch to YPN and have had great earnings. While the CTR is a bit lower than Googles, the RPC is MUCH higher so it tends to provide better earnings.

I think it all has to do with your site. Find which program works best for you and go with it.
