It may be best to not listen to anything I say for advice. :spin:
Channels are easy. Just create a new channel label it with the location of where it will be on your forum. Then when you are creating your ad make sure you select that channel. It adds the code automatically.
If you have more than one forum can you have each forum be a different channel?

I use prefixes.
ie:
HS_336_navbar
and
SVT_728_leader
You can also channel by url. I set up a channel for each website so I can track per site.
how soon can you start tracking by channels, I just changed my ads so i could put the custom channels. Do I have to wait until I have a month with nothing but ads with channels to track them?

How are guys able to tell if an ad is a site specific ad as opposed to a general one?
It will start tracking as soon as you put the code on your site. There is no need to wait.
Are you asking which ads are being clicked on? If so you would not be able to track the actual ads that are being click. Adsense spiders will find the right keyword matches for your sites topic.
You can also filter out ads that are not relevant to your sites topic in your Adsense panel.
Using channels on your site will actually let you know where your best ad position is when running multiple ads on your site. But as stated above you can use channels for multiple sites.
Thanks James, but I have already made my channels. I'm referring to the fact that people are mentioning their ability to see which are TARGETED ads and which are not.
Well I know that this isn't adsense related but a member donated $200 to the site today. So the other day was a $209 day for me.
