Anyone using skimlinks?

I just wondered the type of success people are having with skimlinks? Its showing about a 20-25% increase on overall revenue for us, bolted it on top of Adsense and Adsense revenue has not decreased, which is obviously a good thing!

I was considering using skimlinks but I don't think my site is ready yet. We are still fairly new and I don't want to scare people off when I don't have a solid member base to stand on.

That's the beauty of these services--- they are basically invisible to users.

When a user or you post a link to a site that has a program, like ebay, the link still appears as 'ebay.com...' to the user. The onclick event via javascript takes the user to pass the affiliate info, and unless a user looks quick, they won't even see it happening.

Oh! I thought this was the kind of service that took regular words in the text and turned THOSE into those hover Ads!

Looks like I will be setting up Skimlinks this afternoon.

I recommend viglink over skimlinks. They simply have more affiliates.

Just that quick, I've signed up for Viglink. What template should I place the code in above the closing body tag? Showthread?

I recommend one of the ad location templates so you don't have to worry about reverts. ad_footer_end i beleive is the name

I'm good to go. I'm not too happy about the fact that it turns "www.ebay.com" into "eBay | Electronics, Cars, Clothing, Collectibles and More Online Shopping" though. It only leaves the link as is if the user uses the link function in the editor to connect the text with the URL. Any way to control that?

That has nothing to do with viglink-- thats a vbseo feature. See /vbseocp.php#add_ttitle

When you're referring to "Words" and linking out etc that's ( I believe) a new feature called Skimwords, which is ran by Skimlinks. I don't have skimwords on my site currently, just the skimlinks feature, which just links out to their 12,000+ affiliates

there is also kontera, vibrant, infolinks, and i'm sure there's more that do that style of advertising

I am also using VigLink, I like it a lot more better than Skimlinks.

I have neve use this kind of things, I find there is one within VB software 'Skimlinks', but VigLink not available there, may try one when I am ready.

I am sure most of their products can be found from my sites because my site introduced a site like ebay and more powersul than ebay with many many suppliers and factory outlets.
