AdSense in the economic crisis

Are you guys experiencing a drop in CTR and CPC as well? The past 3 months have been my worst months with AdSense despite of greatly increasing traffic.

I wrote a little blog post about what I think will happen with AdSense in the econ. crisis. The loss of the ad's relevancy is definitely something that could damage AdSense's advertisers and publishers.

Although where I am the recession isn't noticed as much. My site's niche specifically (paintball) is. Less people are playing, hence my sites slowly declining in adsense hits. I'm probably making about half of what I used to make 2 years ago with half the users; it's probably a contribution of less users signing in because they no longer play- yet my new user rate has not changed.

Adsense has been fairing FAR better than my other ad networks lately, although it has taken a minor hit.

One thing sure , adsense turkey has been hit so hard.

I've noticed a decline, although the months after christmas are usually the slowest.

I have found that my adsense earnings are up the last 3 months.

mind you i dont make crazy money off of adsense it is a good increase none the less.

yeh mine is starting to make a turn for the worse after last month which was the best month ever (but that's only because traffic is up... ecpm was way down)

Adsence is doing so bad for me, i removed it 100% and moved to cpm only and less ads for all users (removed an ad spot)

Well lately my adsense has done a lot better than any of the other ad networks that I am working with. I have maybe seen a little drop in ctr and cpc, but overall not much. When I started seeing a drop a few months ago, I added more ads on each page, only 2 sets, and now the maximum of 3 sets of ads on each page, so that helped tremendously.

It really depends on the niche.

Which niche are you guys in? Would be interesting to know :-).

Yeah, My adsense earnings are dropped by 40% and I think there won't be any worse cases than that. I hope the situation will recover in a couple of months.

Oh sure reveal the niche so you can move in and steal my extra 20$ a month..

adsense is doing good for me these past few weeks. i hear rumors that adsdaq is back up with good figures again too... i'm going to give them a run again this weekend.
