AdSense - Does disabling site targetting help?

Has anyone written to Google and had them disable site targeting for their sites? I wonder if this might make the market dictate what I get per click rather than allow people to target my sites and specify some ridiculously low CPC or CPM rate.

Theoretically, AdSense is supposed to work for me by only displaying what will make me the most money. On the other hand, I've read people say that Google doesn't want to turn away paying advertisers, even if they're only paying .05 a click, and they have to put those ads somewhere...

So, has anyone had Google disable site targeting for their sites, and if so, has this helped?

site targetting generally serves ads in a CPM method rather than CPC. I wish more people had me targetted. it brings in a LOT more money than my regular ads do.... nearly $2 more eCPM.

You can check how much you are getting from placement ads in "advanced reports", for me targeted ads are performing slightly better than contextual.

How are you able to determine how much you are getting from placement ads via Advanced Reports? I don't see anything about it...

Thanks. The box appears for me when I select "individual ad" from the drop down.

It looks like I've only been making pennies from placement ads, but that could be because I've blocked many URLs because the same ads were displaying everywhere over and over again.

Thought site targeting was discontinued?

Doesn't look like it since you can view what you've made from people specifically advertising on your site and Adwords has a mechanism for choosing specific sites to place ads on.

If google banned you, you most likely will never be able to run adsense again.
