Yahoo Slurp - New Version of Search Engine Crawler Released

Yahoo Slurp - New Version Set Loose

Yahoo! released a new version of its Search Crawler (Slurp) this week. It's crawling/indexing algorithm is now more efficient, consuming 25% less bandwidth "without a loss in content coverage".

Some changes to web page ranking will occur.

Notes on vBSEO
  • Each search engine has its own indexing and ranking algorithm to gather content & determine the order in which it is displayed in the search engine results pages. vBSEO focuses on using SEO techniques that are common to the major search engines including Google, Yahoo, and MSN Search.

For the last 25 minutes i'm trying to submit my sitemaps to yahoo and each time i get the following error. There is no problem with the server anyone can reach , server load is pretty low .

I don't know why but yahoo doesn't like my site and i hate yahoo because of this.

Funny thing is i can submit my RSS or XML feed but not the sitemaps. Yahoo sucks...

I see much less in terms of crawling by yahoo now. I was getting concerned until I just now read this.

Rankings are pretty stable with yahoo still, and have been for a while now.

As for that sitemap thing, I have always had tons of problems submitting a sitemap to it. I fought with it a couple times in the pas for a long time until I would finally get it to accept the sitemap. After the second time I decided I wasn't going to go through the trouble anymore.
