    vBSEO for PhotoPost

I'm a newbie and this is only my second post on these forums here at vBSEO.

Hmmm... I've been reading parts of this forum and the PhotoPost forum. I have vBulletin, PhotoPost Pro, and vBSEO on my site at asiandesktop.com. I just got vBSEO 3.0.0 Gold and installed this on my site and later found that it does not support PhotoPost for SEO features, only vBulletin. This was a big disappointment to me, but not a big surprise as I read the forums here after I bought this product.

Hmmm... vBSEO enhances 60 million pages. PhotoPost has sold over 9500 copies to site owners. One member of this forum even said he has a PhotoPost gallery on his site with over 100,000 images. Seems like there is a demand for this product. I know I would certainly buy it if it were available and my forum is still young. If I was the guy with 100,000 images, I would definitely buy it. No doubt.

I read the following posts on this site: VBSeo and PhotoPost Pro and a few others. Instead of us members talking to you and talking to them (All Enthusiast), why don't the two companies talk together and work something out to develop this product - vBSEO for PhotoPost.

If it makes business sense, work out a way to develop the product.

If it doesn't make business sense, just say plainly to us that it doesn't. Just say, don't expect a product from us, end of discussion, closed case on this matter. Then we are duly informed and don't ever have to comment on it or feature request it again. We can just read the response from you to this posting.

I think both companies (Crawlability and All Enthusiast) make innovative products for the betterment of people who use the internet. I have bought both products and find them both to be good.

But to have two good companies (at least I think so thus far because I am happy with their products thus far) pass us customers back and forth between the two forums is a waste of time and a cop-out. Ask them, no... ask them... no... go back and ask them... a terrible experience for us customers who support your product and buy stuff from you (and them).

I hope your two companies can put your heads together, come up with a good product, and make some money off of us customers who want to buy this type of product at a fair price.

If, whenever you put this product together, email me and I will be the first one waiting in line to buy this product, oops, I mean the second person waiting in line. The guy with the 100,000 images on his site has first dibs on this one...

Call those guys up if you already have not...

    Cheers...

    Hello,

'Business Sense' aside, using the information found here: http://www.vbseo.com/f2/a-1662/?highlight=photopost and here: http://www.vbseo.com/f23/a-1011/?highlight=photopost , it is quite possible to have vBSEO rewirite Photopost URLs, as can be seen at New Zealand Photo Gallery - New Zealand Boards .

We have begun developing vBulletin product files and instructions for various software packages - Photoplog, vBACMPS, GARS, Photopost Classifieds (which has a remarkably similiar structure to Photopost) and Downloads II are compatible, with others likely to follow, including the vBulletin Blog plugin.

All of these plugins are provided free of charge to vBSEO customers. It's not about making money, it's about providing our customers with the ability to vBSEO more of their site.

'vBSEOing' a product doesn't just mean making the URLs static or keyword-rich, a large focus must be placed on achieving Link Consensus, ensuring that there is only one URL per resource, thereby strengthening the potential Page Rank of that resource.

As vBSEO 3.1 will be released without encryption, some of the 'barriers' that software developers face in making their products compatible will be removed, allowing both sides of the 'fence' to develop vBSEO-compatible options.

I don't own PhotoGallery and I am not a programmer, so the posts you referenced don't mean much to me. I am not about rewriting code to make this happen as I don't know anything about coding. I don't use some of the other products you mentioned about. I don't care about the complexities of making a product like vBSEO for PhotoPost. I simply want to know if you guys are going to make a product like this in the near future so I can buy it.

I just want something I can buy and install without any hacking, code writing, or understanding anything beyond how to install this product. Plug and play.

I thought business was about making good products that make money. So business sense aside, I can't see you guys making all these products to lose money. If you guys don't work to make money, I am hiring.

A simple yes or no answer would have been sufficient.

    Thank you.

PhotoPost doesn't have any "hooks", so to do a full vBSEO integration, it would take quite a bit of modification to the PhotoPost code. It's not a simple "plug and play" process.

I know it's not simple, that's why in my original post I suggested you guys should contact and work with the other company if possible to develop products which are good for customers. The plug and play that I was referring to in my reply above means: I want a plug and play product to use, and did not mean that developing this product would be plug and play.

I will conclude that the answer will be "no, vbseo will not be developing vbseo for photopost in the near future" after hearing these two responses from staff members. Thank you for your comments.

If you read through the PhotoPost forums, there have been many requests for them to add more SEO features, but it's not something they're interested in from the comments I have seen in the past. They feel that the "Search Engine Friendly" URL option that is already included in PhotoPost is sufficient.

I love their products, just wish they could make them look a little cleaner. I dislike the photo.php/whatever/wwtw urls

    >> Photopost Classifieds (which has a remarkably similiar structure to Photopost)

Would love to be of any assistance here. We use both (classifieds and photopost) on our site.

*hate* The classifieds, but it seems to be the only one with half decent integration with VB.

We'll consider all major vBulletin plugins for possible native support. This is something we are working towards for the upcoming versions this year. We do not have an official list of support plugins or ETA available at this time.
