| Trackback Anchor Text
As I've been using the trackback feature more, I've noticed that some blogs will display different anchor text. The 3 different formats that I've seen are: title of page for thread title of thread forum site name Some blogs seem to use the full page title of the thread: "Chase Utley Hitting Streak-Philadelphia Phillies-GoTeamsGo Sports Fan Forum" Or they use the thread title: "Chase Utley Hitting Streak" Free Wordpress blogs with default settings seem to display the "Forum Name" as listed in your vBulletin options. The 1st comment on my test blog is one example: http://rmjvol.wordpress.com/2006/07/...itting-streak/ It uses "GoTeamsGo Sports Fan Forum" as the anchor text. WordPress blogs that are hosted at their own domain seem to use either that same anchor text or they use something else. The 1st 2 formats are fine but the 3rd could be a lot better. I don't know how it's getting passed to the blog but it would be a lot better if it passed something besides just the name of my site. Anything we can do to improve this? Thanks, Ross |
