Taking the blog outside the forum folder

vbseo needs an option to take the blog outside of the forum directory.

Currently there is no option to do this.

What we need is the option to turn this:

http://www.mydomain.com/forum/blog.php
http://forum.mydomain.com/blog.php

into this:

http://www.mydomain.com/blog/

Also another option, one that I would personally need is to make it like:

http://blog.mydomain.com/
http://blog.mydomain.com/[username]

Another possible option that a lot of users have been asking for on vbulletin community forum:

http://[username].mydomain.com/blog/

Hopefully this can be added as it is very important for a lot of users including myself.

Thank you Star, I certanly hope the team will approve with this, but I cannot see why they wouldn't. ATM it is holding me back to release the blog on our site, because we do not want to have it under the forum folder in URLS.

This would really be a good feature to have for the blog. Hope it can happen.

I believe this cannot be an official addon as vBSEO support all servers and you cannot use this format with lighttpd etc..

It happens with vbulletin or any other software that not all options can be supported because of reasons like server compatibility. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be added imo, especially when competition already has it and can affect sales/current customers. But that is just my opinion...

I second that.

@Juan: any official statement on that topic?

I'm pretty sure Juan wil consider these and other options for the next release as he has made clear in the private pre release forums shortly after this topic's post date. So we can aspect this for a future release
