Remove addins to the "Posting Rules"

I don't use linkbacks or tracksbacks or anything in my forum at all, so the add on to the posting rules at the bottom of each thread ("Trackbacks are off, Linkbacks are off" etc) are just wasting space.

If they are turned off, would it be possible to hide them altogether?

You can disable "vBSEO Forum Rules" plugin in vB admincp.

Do you mean you still want to register all incoming linkbacks, but do not display them on showthread pages? One of the options is to empty "vbseo_linkbacks" template for that.

Would that be safe enough to do to empty a complete template. Failing that is there a way to have it collapsed on every page?

If you just want the rules hidden, then you would disable the same plugin mentioned earlier in this thread.

I'd still like to be able to see them in the admin CP just not visible in the thread

Yes, that plugin mentions only handles the "Forum Rules". The "Forum Rules" is that small box that displays.

Sorry I'm not wanting to remove it from the forum rules box like the first poster, I want to remove the whole of the linkback box which shows which sites linkback to the thread.

One of the options is to empty "vbseo_linkbacks" template for that.
Will that stop them working altogether or just remove the visual box?

That will stop them from being displayed, but incoming linkbacks will still be registered in database.
