We could remove it... but I wouldn't at this stage of the product.
As of now, the interface is getting overly complex...
In 2.5 (and with the new interface layout), we'll start doing some neat stuff along that line, many of which Zooman talks about in this thread: ways to improve what SEs indexJuan Muriente / Crawlability Inc.
