    Last-Modified in Header?

    Hello,

is it possible to add an "Last-Modified: Sun, 16 Jul 2006 09:24:10 GMT"-Header to all SEO-rewritten *.html-Pages to simulate an real html file?

    or have this no preference?

best i think, was to use a real date of the connected site, like last-post-date or anything.

That's prob a good idea. Not sure if the search engines look for this tag or not though?

They do, and rumors has it they (at least Google) is beginning to pay more attention to it now, at least when it comes to calculating spider visit frequencies.

    Very nice!
    But is this one stable??
I had some problems with the cookies and logging in/out when I experimented with this myself earlier..

And this one doesn't seem to give the correct modified date all the time either, since I get todays date/time on some of my older threads, but others again seems to be working fine...

The VBSEO_LASTMOD_HEADER option is implemented in the latest build, but it has not been tested extensively yet and is in BETA stage.

Should it be set to 1 to enable?

I tried viewing source after setting it and didn't see anything new.

Yes, this is a beta feature, so it's disabled by default.
I tried viewing source after setting it and didn't see anything new.
It doesn't appear in html source, but in http header only.

Ah okay, I misunderstood. I thought it'd do something in the meta tags as well insdie the header.

    Getting the same problems with this one as I got with the code I made myself earlier;
Several members have problems logging in and/or out, and a few have problems posting as well.
The "last-modified" header seems to be messing with the cookies in some way...

i think this is problem of the browser, they show the wrong pageversion - if you klick another site its all right

but the only workaround can be to sending the header only for guests or if they have the NOJS-status

Apologies for bumping a really old topic (found it on google when trying to find out why some vB forums have Last-Modified headers).

I notice that this is still not on by default. Is it still in beta? This is a great feature (hadn't noticed til now that vBSEO even offered it).
