I would like to be able to change keywords within posts to hyperlinks if I so choose. For example, if a post has the words "vbulletin seo," that would be replaced with the same words to a link of my choosing in every post (or perhaps on a per forum basis). I know there is a a mod/plugin out there that does this, but it would seem to be more efficient to include it in vbseo since it is already parsing all the page text (like when you have compression turned on, etc). Plus this could be more seo targeted with additional ideas I have. Just a thought -vissa |

I'm sure that this would work well for the SEO aspect of the forum, but what about the usability part of it? I dont think that members would be too forthcoming to having "advertisements" inserted directly into their posts. I guess it all depends upon the audience and how they would react.

I use Geek Autolink (GAL) to do this, and it INCREASES our usability. I use it to help define forum specific lingo. (All forums have their own localized language, aside from the macroslang you find everywhere like "IMHO") I can tell people use 'em and find them useful. Sometimes newbies ask what something means, and users give them a definition and also tell them to read the useful popups and click the links. Unfortunately, GAL and VBSEO's acronym expansion conflict somewhat. When I have acronym expansion on, it adds a garbage character or two to GAL popups. |
