    Question Dynamic Meta Description?

    Hi,

if I use dynamic Meta Description in vbseocp, it sets the first xx Words of the Post in the meta-description.

Imagine we have a thread it´s like this:

    Title: Green Car
First Words in Post: i´ve had an accident and now my car is out of order. I need a new one, and i think i will buy me a Ford Mustang. But I don´t know which colour I should buy.

In this example the User has not the words from the title in his content.

The vbseo Meta (Way 1) will look like this:

Meta Title: Green Car - Car Forumns

Meta Description:i´ve had an accident and now my car is out of order. I need a new one, and i think i will buy me a Ford

Wouldn´t it be better to make a formula and put in the title in the first words of the Metadescription?

    Like this (Way 2):

Meta Title: Green Car - Car Forumns
Meta Description: Green Car - i´ve had an accident and now my car is out of order. I need a new one, and i think i will buy me a Ford

Or way 3, put in Title and Name of Subforum:

Meta Title: Green Car- Car Forumns

Meta Description: Green Car - Mustang Forum. i´ve had an accident and now my car is out of order. I need a new one, and i think i will buy me a Ford

What way do you think will be the best and why?

    1. Original vbseo Meta Tags
    2. Original vbseo, but [threadtitle] as first words in Meta tag
    3. Original vbseo, but [threadtitle] and [name of subforum] as first words in Meta tag

I´d like to see your Thinking of these Points.

    No response?

I think that is an interesting Questio, or do you think the metadiscription has no influence of the google ranking?

I´m asking me since many days how I should display the Discription Tag for best ranking?

I think it's not worth worrying about. meta tags are practically depreciated at this point in the game. 10 years ago, the search engines were all meta crawlers. Now, hardly any of them even look at it.

The vbseo default replacement is 'good enough' IMO, and i wouldn't spend any more time on it.

Many search engines use the meta description in their listings. Getting ranked is one thing, people liking what they see and clicking on your listing is another.

It really baffles me that there's a field for the member username page description, but not one for the regular forums.

vBSEO allow you to have forum title and thread title in the urls.It is enough to have it in the title and url, using it in meta description also will be really heavy.
