Better 404 Page

The default "Page not found" is pretty dang ugly.

Wouldn't it not be that hard to use the standard vB message screen (example) to display the error?

Redirecting to the forum home may confuse users and there's not an easy way to do it via a custom message without making a static copy of the message screen.

EDIT: I just found this thread which helps a ton, but it'd still be nice if it was automatic and still didn't require making a copy of the message template.

Sounds like a good idea, but if it is a default feature, at least allow forum owners the ability to customize the 404 page. And if this is allowed, then it defeats the purpose of the built in 404 page by vbseo (Assuming vbseo has one installed later).

Well, you could customize it via the strings. Just set a custom translation and there you go -- custom 404 text.
