Okay, I thought I would blog about how my use of vBseo goes!
I run a small forum (hopefully, only for now) dedicated to US military Servicemembers who have been injured or wounded. I am an attorney and former Army Judge Advocate, so I provide good quality info. I currently have just under 500 members/ 130 active.
If you want to see it, it is at www.pebforum.com .
Two nights ago, I installed Google/Yahoo Sitemap. I had a few glitches getting it installed, nothing that big. So, last night, I decided to install vBseo Gold. Logged on, purchased it, then nothing.
Got a message that went to junk mail on my outlook saying that my forum URL did not make it through the registration process. Followed the link and saw a new input form asking for URL as specified in vb admincp. The difference was the http:// needed to be included. I fixed that. So, I think vBseo could have specified that on the original order form. I never got a download e-mail to the account I specified, I went direct to downloads and was able to download my purchase.
Install? EASY. I am not a complete noob, though when I purchased my vb license six months ago, I was. If you are comfortable with FTP transfers, then getting vBseo installed is extremely easy. Whole installation took me like ten minutes.
vBseo settings were well explained and looked for the most part just fine on default settings. I did one or two minor tweaks, but basically, left it alone. URL rewrite is working. So, now I just need to see what happens in Google and my site!
I will let you know how things go.
UPDATE: I did get the order e-mail; my spam filter kicked it to junk folder. Wasn't a big issue anyways, and not much could be done to fix this without having e-mail addy for spam settings.
